Bayniyaz Tobacco Company was founded in 1984 in Chota Lahor, Swabi — the heart of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's tobacco belt. From these fields, we've grown into a trusted partner across the industry, known for consistency and a portfolio that spans every major class of Pakistani tobacco leaf.

Three generations
A legacy carried forward
Before Bayniyaz Tobacco Company had a name, it had a family — three generations of the same hands turning leaf into livelihood, each one entrusting the craft to the next.
Late Haji Sher Afzal Khan
Patriarch
Long before Bayniyaz Tobacco Company took its name, Haji Sher Afzal Khan was already trading leaf — a trade he entered in 1941. In the years following Partition, he carried tobacco east to Bengal, building relationships across a newly divided subcontinent at a time when trust traveled slower than goods ever could. His reach for distant markets is the root this family business still grows from.

Chief Operating Officer
Haji Abdul Samad Khan joined the family trade in 1992, inheriting his father's discipline at a time when the industry itself was changing. As Chief Operating Officer of Bayniyaz Tobacco Company, he now oversees the daily work of growing, curing, and grading — the steady hand behind four decades of consistency.

Shaheer Khan represents the third generation of the family in tobacco, now serving as Chief Executive Officer of Bayniyaz Tobacco Company. He carries his grandfather's reach for distant markets and his father's discipline in the field into new territory — from Swabi's soil to trade floors across the world — while holding the company to the standard the family built its name on.

Seven leaf types, grown and cured to order
Every variety we supply is grown in a specific soil, cured by a specific method, and produced to the specification our customers demand — from bright cigarette-grade Virginia to dense Rustica snuff tobacco.

Flue-Cured Virginia Cigarette Tobacco
A cash crop grown in loamy soils from March to September, used both domestically and for export. Leaf color ranges from lemon and light orange through to deep orange.

The curing process
Where green leaf becomes gold
Flue-curing works by indirect heat: a furnace at the base of the barn channels warm air through flues running beneath and along the walls, rather than exposing the leaf to open flame or smoke. Over several staged days, the barn's temperature is raised in steps — first to wilt the leaf, then to fix its color, then to dry the leaf and stem. It's this staged heat, not sunlight or open air alone, that develops the bright lemon-to-orange color associated with cigarette-grade Virginia tobacco.
Our other leaf types follow different paths — Burley and dark tobacco are air-cured in open barns, while Rustica and Desi/Hookah grades rely on sun-curing — but the flue-cured barn remains the most temperature-sensitive step in the process.

Global reach
From Chota Lahor to seven export markets
Leaf grown and cured in Swabi has moved out to buyers in Belarus, Germany, Italy, Romania, the UAE, Singapore, and Indonesia.
On the global stage
Representing Swabi at the world's tobacco summits
Bayniyaz Tobacco has become a regular presence at international tobacco trade summits, carrying Swabi-grown leaf onto trade floors most Pakistani suppliers never reach. In 2025 alone, our team exhibited at two of the industry's leading events, on two different continents, within weeks of each other.
In October, we exhibited at World Tobacco Asia in Surabaya, Indonesia, a show drawing more than 250 international suppliers. The following month, we were on the floor at World Tobacco Middle East, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre alongside roughly 200 exhibitors and over 5,000 visitors from across the global tobacco industry. At both, our team presented Flue-Cured Virginia and other Swabi-grown grades to manufacturers, blenders, and traders, and sat down with prospective buyers face to face — the same relationship-first approach behind every container we ship. It's a floor shared with major regional and international suppliers, and we intend to keep showing up.
